The Audio Engineer is responsible for delivering an audio system for a production vehicle. The system should be fully validated, comply regulations & certifications. The Audio Engineer shapes the overall in-vehicle listening experience with their unrivaled experience and knowledge in vehicle acoustics, psychoacoustics, audio amplifiers, transducers, and DSP based algorithms.

Responsibilities and Goals

  • Create audio system requirements specification.
  • Lead sourcing activities for the system including creating RFQs and evaluating suppliers.
  • Manage suppliers as primary technical contact
  • Lead the system integration activities for the vehicle.
  • Work closely with vehicle team for locations and packaging of speakers, microphones and other components
  • Support validation activities to ensure that vehicle milestones are met.
  • Support vehicle launch activities including resolving audio quality issues.

Qualifications/Experience

  • MS or BS in Engineering
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Experience with developing a premium audio experience
  • Good understanding of acoustics, echo/noise cancellation, audio tuning
  • Working knowledge audio/acoustic measurement tools
  • Good performance analysis and debugging skills
