Evelozcity is looking for an Electromagnetics Engineer that will be responsible for the design, analysis and testing of electrical machines (permanent magnet, induction and switched reluctance topologies). Tasks include but not limited to: sizing of motors for target performance requirements, developing new concept for prototype and production electric vehicles; electromagnetic design of rotor/stator components, first principles and finite-element analysis of electric machines, performance simulation, design optimization and correlation of models with physical testing.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D, or MSc. with five years working experience with high-performance electric machines for traction or similar applications.
  • Expert level capabilities with one or more finite element simulation packages for electromagnetics and coupled multi-physics problems, including 2D/3D, magnetostatic, time-harmonic and transient (including with motion) problems.
  • Understanding of electric machine theory including torque production, efficiency, minimization of losses and fault analysis for short circuit and demagnetization.
  • Design knowledge of multphysics machine problems (cooling, magneto/electroacoustics and NVH/vibration)
  • Experience with techniques for multi-parameter, multi-objective design optimization (genetic algorithms, simulating annealing, etc.)
